With the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, many school districts found it challenging to acquire the materials they needed for summer STEM programs.  A CTE educator working in the Atlanta Public School district reached out to Techno Tinkers with a request to supply BBC micro:bits and the micro:bit starter kits for their students. Acquiring a bulk order of micro:bits and electronics was difficult for all STEM education suppliers during the pandemic, as shipping times globally had slowed dramatically. Nevertheless, Techno Tinkers staff worked overtime to ensure the delivery of quality electronics kits in a timely manner. We are proud to have partnered with this school district, as STEM education is crucial in our technology-driven world. Unfortunately, inequalities in education have led to accessibility concerns, especially during a year of disrupted learning. In our efforts to provide electronics kits and promote STEM education for students, Techno Tinkers hopes to help make STEM education more accessible for all students. Atlanta Public Schools has been a repeat customer, and we are glad to continue our work in partnering with school districts and promoting STEM education.
